Can you believe that it’s been two full weeks since
Hamish McKenzie Killed Someone
made its debut? Neither can I! Frankly, I thought the spam rules alone would have gotten me kicked off by now. In that time, though, we’ve been remarkably successful at starting a conversation about Hamish McKenzie. A conversation that recently featured this:

Is this literally true, or just a metaphor for platforming a bunch of dangerous bigots? Should I look into it at all before publishing information that might inflict damage on an innocent man’s life, relationships and reputation? Those are precisely the sorts of questions I don’t have to consider, because I publish on Substack, and on Substack, if you feel like saying something, it might as well be true.
Good luck with your Raging Onanistic Goat Desires, Hamish! Now, on to the main post.
Hamish McKenzie Killed Someone is satire, and as such, does not constitute libel.
“Hamish McKenzie killed someone” is a “cruel and unfair” “attack on an individual,” which consists of “writing about someone unfavorably, even repeatedly.” As such, it is explicitly protected under Substack’s anti-harassment policy, as set forth by Hamish McKenzie.
In a separate statement, which in no way reflects on the previous statement that Hamish McKenzie killed someone, here are the Trevor Project’s most recent statistics on suicide among transgender youth.
